  1. Sun. Series: The Kerry Boys - CT's Favorite Irish Balladeers

    March 8, 2020, 2:00 PM - 3:01 PM @ Thornton Wilder Hall

    On March 8th at 2pm, come out for the last show in the series featuring The Kerry Boys – CT’s Irish Balladeers. With their signature vocal harmonies and high energy instrumentation, The Kerry Boys are just plain Celtic fun! The Kerry Boys performances are truly a shared experience as they engage audiences of all ages in singing and clapping to high-energy performances of engaging Irish ballads and sea songs. In their years performing together they have been welcomed into Irish festivals, library and municipal performances, Irish pubs, clubs and festivals, including The Connecticut Irish Festival, the Danbury Irish Festival, the Fairfield Irish Festival, and more! All shows take place at the handicapped accessible Thornton Wilder Hall in the Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, 06518. All shows start at 2 pm. Tickets are $5 for Seniors/Students under 12, $7 general, available at the door only and cash only. Doors open at 1:30pm

    March 8, 2020, 3:45 PM - 6:00 PM @ Whitneyville Cultural Commons

    Monthly Community Tap Jams with Live Music at the Whitneyville Cultural Commons in Hamden, CT! WHAT: Tap jam open to ALL humans. All levels of dancers and non-dancers AND musicians!! We will warm up as a group, learn a groove, and then improvise/trade/call out all the jazz standards your heart desires and just groove it out! Musicians also welcome to come sit in! Bring food/drinks to share! Or don't, whatever floats your boat. Doors open 15 minutes before the jam so you can settle and get your dancing shoes/mindset on! $5-20 sliding scale. All proceeds go towards the musicians, space, and the ability to keep making this happen! March musicians: Jeff Fuller on bass, Joe Murphin on drums, Finn Henry on keys/vocals
