Lost Stolen Found Properties Announcement
The Hamden Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind all residents that as warm weather arrives, outdoor activities increase. Activities such as riding bicycles, gardening, lawn care and other such pastimes are at their prime.
With that in mind we would like to remind you that;
-
You should record all serial numbers on any items that you may own.
-
If there are no serial numbers then affix your name and a phone number to the item.
-
Engraving works well as it is harder to conceal.
-
This will ensure that we can enter the information into our national data base if lost.
-
By affixing that information, if your items are recovered we will be able to locate you, the owner, and return the item to you.
Alternatively, should you have any items stolen or lost and the serial numbers were not recorded or you did not affix your name and phone number, you can periodically contact the property officer, Linda Guerra. It is possible that the Hamden Police Department could be in possession of your lost or stolen items and unable to contact you due to lack of information.
You can leave a voice message with your name, telephone number and a brief description of the item. I will return you call as soon as possible.
Our number is 203-230-4066 and hours are 8am-2pm Monday through Friday.
Please call before you take the trip.
Thank You.

FY 2010 Local Solicitation
05/21/2010
The Hamden Police Department has been selected to receive a Justice Assistance Grant from the United States Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs. This program is intended to allow states and local governments to support a wide range of activities to prevent and control crime and improve the criminal justice system.
The Town of Hamden was awarded $20,879.00. The Hamden Police Department is applying to utilize these funds to purchase a new Automated Law Enforcement Scheduling and Notification System. The current Police Department roster and staffing procedures are performed manually, prone to error, open to subjectivity, and lacking in analysis and forcasting capabilities for budgeting and scheduling. This new system will allow the Hamden Police Department to automate and computerize the scheduling and hiring process of all staff members and eliminate this labor-intensive and time-consuming process.
