Chief Thomas J. Wydra
Chief Thomas J. Wydra began his Law Enforcement career on
February 26, 1993. He attended the Connecticut Police
Academy 238th Session and graduated in June 1993.
He worked as a Patrol Officer until July 1996 when he was
transferred to the Street Crime Unit and assigned as an
Investigator.
In September 2001 he was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the Patrol
Division as a supervisor. In April 2002 he was promoted to Lieutenant and
assigned as a Patrol Shift Commander.
In November 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief after
he scored first on the examination for the position. He was assigned the
commander of the Investigative Services Division which included the
Detective Division, Special Victims Unit, and the Crime Scene Unit.
In July 2006 he was appointed by Mayor Craig Henrici to be the 9th Police Chief
in the history of the Hamden Police Department. |
