Quinnipiack Valley Health District (QVHD)

Mission Statement: The purpose of the Quinnipiack Valley Health District is to preserve and improve the status of public health in the Towns of North Haven, Hamden, and Woodbridge, Connecticut by upholding and enforcing the Public Health Code of the State of Connecticut and such ordinances and regulations as may be adopted by the District Board of Health while working with other providers of health services in the district to better coordinate existing programs and to plan and implement new health programs.

The QVHD serves as an advocate for healthy lifestyles and as a provider of health promotion materials and activities. All programs and services are based upon four major concepts: emphasize prevention, aid in the control and management of communicable and chronic disease, make current health information accessible to district residents, and promote personal responsibility for health status.
