Salon L Hair Care Opens in Whitneyville
Hamden welcomed Salon L, a complete family hair care salon in the Whitneyville area. A grand opening was held on Thursday, February 7th . The Hamden Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Craig Henrici helped celebrate the grand opening.

Salon L opened its doors on January 11th at 1220 Whitney Avenue, near the corner of Putnam Avenue in Hamden. This new business venture is woman-powered, but don’t let that scare the men away! They offer a complete range of services for everyone including cuts, traditional and dimensional color, high-lights, low-lights perms, up-do’s and facial waxing, from baby’s first haircut (with keepsake certificate), teenager’s first highlight, men’s traditional and clipper cuts and mom’s grey coverage (only your hairdresser knows for sure). The stylists are well versed in all types of hair styling and offer personalized service to achieve the best look for you.
There is an assortment of quality hair care products available including Paul Mitchell, Back to Basics and the popular Big and Sexy hairline as well as others.
From the moment you walk in you will feel relaxed in the friendly contemporary atmosphere. The Salon L team consists of owners Lisa Vandewarker and Lee Ann Dalia and stylist Mary Papacoda. These three professionals bring a combined 60 years of experience to the community.
Salon hours are Monday thru Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00pm. Both appointment and walk in service are available. There is plenty of free off street parking in the rear of the building. Call them at 230-1455 or stop by to say hello and wish them well.
