Hamden Welcomes the Liquor Mart to Whitney Ave.
Mayor Carl J. Amento and Director of Economic and Community Development, Dale Kroop, were in attendance at the grand opening of the Liquor Mart located at 3837 Whitney Ave, just next to the Sleeping Giant Golf Course. The celebration was held Tuesday, May 25, 2004.
Liquor Mart previously known as Bond Package Store, which was located at 3835 Whitney Ave for 50 years, was purchased by the Melta Family in January. The store was moved to 3837 Whitney Ave on May 11, 2004. Liquor Mart will be open Monday- Saturday till 8PM. Their phone number is 203-248-3151.
While you are sure to find a broad variety of liquor stores, the owners (Parag and Darsh Mehta) promise that the new location will give “better service and lower prices.”
Liquor Mart offers a wide assortment of wines and domestic and foreign beers. Parag Mehta stated “This new location has double the size and will have an increase in selection.”
Parag and Darsh Mehta said that 25% of all profits from the day of the grand opening will be donated to one of Hamden’s Organizations.
