COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Community Development Manager Job Description

The Town of Hamden is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Community Development Manager. This is a highly responsible Administrative position in the Town of Hamden reporting directly to the Mayor.  This position is charged with oversight of the Town's CDBG office, Community Services Department and the Youth Services Department along with general oversight of the Keefe Center Building. This position will be the point-person handling Community Development Block Grant responsibilities, Community Services, Youth Services and Human Services responsibilities and related activities.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Urban Studies, Human Services, Business Administration or a closely related field of study and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working in the areas of community development, economic development and/or housing, administering community development grants and significant managerial experience supervising a professional human services staff (including planning, implementing and evaluating municipal programs and municipal project outcomes), or a Masters degree in Public Administration or Urban Studies or a closely related field of study and three (3) years of progressively responsible applicable managerial experience.

DIRECTOR OF ARTS & CULTURE

Director of Arts & Culture Job Description

The Town of Hamden is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Director of Arts & Culture. This is a highly responsible Administrative position in the Town of Hamden reporting directly to the Mayor.  The Director of Arts & Culture will create and oversee implementation of the strategic vision, business plan, budget, staffing plan, marketing plan for music, dance, film, theater, multi-disciplinary arts programming and other community events and projects.  Coordinates funding and community volunteer involvement. The candidates must be proficient in all aspects of booking and artist relations, production management, and community development..

Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a four (4) year degree in Fine Arts or a closely related field of study.

The Town of Hamden is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Director of Recreation. This is a highly responsible Administrative position in the Town of Hamden reporting directly to the Mayor.  The Director of Recreation will perform a variety of duties associated with the administrative oversight and overall management of all recreational programming, camps and special events.
