Main Office, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

HYS Early Care and Education Center, 7:30am - 5:30pm.

School Age Child Care Program, 3:00pm - 5:30pm

Youth Center located at 60 Putnam Avenue, M-F 2:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.

The Hamden Youth Services Bureau was established in 1975 as a municipal department of the Town of Hamden. The Hamden Youth Services Bureau seeks to improve the quality of life for the children, youth and families of Hamden by providing a variety of programs and services. The Bureau creates and fosters opportunities for Hamden youth and their families to learn and grow in positive ways. The Youth Services Bureau provides programs in the areas of Youth Employment, Year-Round Childcare Programs for pre-k through sixth grade, Substance Abuse Prevention, Positive Youth Development, Delinquency Prevention, Youth Recreation, Information and Referral, Parent Education, Arts and Cultural events, Youth Enrichment activities, Community Teen Activities and Seasonal events and activities. Programs and activities are provided at the main offices at the Keefe Community Center, Youth Center at 60 Putnam Avenue, and in all Hamden schools and at various community sites.

The staff of the Youth Services Bureau consists of one full-time Youth Services Bureau Coordinator, an Outreach Counselor, and a Clerk-Typist. The Child Care staff is comprised of a Childcare Director, Childcare Aides, Student Interns and volunteers. The Hamden Youth Center staff is comprised of one part-time Program Director and part-time program aides.
