Jepp Brook Early Millsite
The Jepp Brook archeological preserve, located near the corner of River Road and Still Hill Road in the Mt. Carmel section of Hamden, contains visible remains of an industrial mill site. The protected watershed area is owned by the Town of Hamden and is listed on the State Register of Historic places.

Quinnipiac Trail
"The 23 mile Quinnipiac Trail is the oldest in the Connecticut Blue Trail system. The trail passes over Sleeping Giant State Park and Mt. Sanford along its route from Quinnipiac River State Park in North Haven to Route 68 in Cheshire."
Regicides Trail
"This 6.3 miles trail begins in West Rock Ridge State Park at Judges Cave and follows the crest of the West Rock Ridge range northward and ends at the junction of the Quinnipiac Trail in Hamden. Part of CT's blue trail system."
Sleeping Giant State Park
"32 miles of hiking trails, picnic area and shelter, river stocked with trout for spring fishing. The tower trail, as well as some of the other trails, lead to a stone tower offering a 360° view of the countryside. Winter: Cross country ski trail can be accessed from either Chestnut (east side) or Tuttle Roads (north side.) 8am to sunset. Fee charged for parking weekends and holidays Mid. Hamden Symphony Orchestra
"The Hamden Symphony Orchestra is a volunteer orchestra of more than 50 members affiliated with Quinnipiac University. Founded in 1962 by Ruth Brooks, it provides cultural enrichment to the Hamden and Quinnipiac communities through its series of concerts, its annual Young Musicians Concerto Competition, and by the orchestral experience it offers to area musicians and soloists. Membership is open to all qualified musicians, subject to openings in a particular section. Quinnipiac students and faculty can participate and students can earn college credit."
