HAMDEN’s 6th Annual Earth Day Celebration

Hamden's 2012 Earth Day Celebration will be held on April 21st from 10am - 3pm at the Hamden Middle School at 2623 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden. This year's family-oriented celebration will feature: the WTNH Weathervan, over 60 exhibitors promoting earth-friendly services and products, school exhibits, and over a dozen FREE ACTIVITIES. Activities will include face painting, a scavenger hunt by Hamden's Clean and Green Commission, wood making projects by Home Depot, a bookmark craft for children by Experience Corps, decoupage water bottles by P.L.A.C.E. Children's Museum, a Bird Feeder Craft by Boy Scout Troop 640, a coloring contest by Home Run Realty, recycling games, and much more!

Entertainment will be provided by ART FARM – A Circus for a Fragile Planet, C.J. May's Magic Shows, the Hamden Middle School Student Musicians, the Hamden High School Reptile Club, Clink the Clown, Organic Land Care Workshops by the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA), and Carbon Nation – a climate change solutions movie which will play continuously throughout the day.

We invite all ages to Hamden’s Earth Day Event to learn how our individual efforts can have a major impact on global warming, discover simple things you can do personally to help solve the climate crisis and learn how our choices impact the global environment. We can each make a difference by educating ourselves on how to minimize our waste and preserve our natural resources.

Principal Sponsors for Hamden's Earth Day Celebration are: COVANTA ENERGY for a Cleaner World, DEXSIL, The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, Home Depot of Hamden, and Walmart of Hamden. Supporting Sponsors are: D'Aniello's Amity Bike, Deric J. Currie Ins. Agcy. Inc. - State Farm, and Still Hill Stitcheries.
