Hamden's 2012 Earth Day Celebration will be held on April 21st
from 10am - 3pm at the Hamden Middle School at 2623 Dixwell Avenue
in Hamden. This year's family-oriented celebration will feature: the
WTNH Weathervan, over 60 exhibitors promoting earth-friendly services
and products, school exhibits, and over a dozen FREE ACTIVITIES.
Activities will include face painting, a scavenger hunt by Hamden's
Clean and Green Commission, wood making projects by Home Depot, a
bookmark craft for children by Experience Corps, decoupage water
bottles by P.L.A.C.E. Children's Museum, a Bird Feeder Craft by Boy
Scout Troop 640, a coloring contest by Home Run Realty, recycling
games, and much more!
ENTERTAINMENT:
Entertainment
will
be provided by ART FARM – A Circus
for a Fragile Planet, C.J. May's Magic Shows, the Hamden Middle
School Student Musicians, the Hamden High School Reptile Club, Clink
the Clown, Organic Land Care Workshops by the Northeast Organic
Farming Association (NOFA), and Carbon Nation – a climate change
solutions movie which will play continuously throughout the day.
We
invite all ages to Hamden’s Earth Day Event to learn how our
individual efforts can have a major impact on global warming,
discover simple things you can do personally to help solve the
climate crisis and learn how our choices impact the global
environment. We can each make a difference by educating ourselves on
how to minimize our waste and preserve our natural resources.
