Walkable Sidewalks Project CTDOT 61-153
The Town of Hamden is planning on installing new sidewalks to connect areas where there are currently no sidewalks. The proposed project will bridge currently unconnected sidewalk routes located within a number of residential neighborhoods and commercial areas. Construction goals include the extension and connection of existing sidewalk routes and the installation of curb ramps and crosswalks. There will also be some pavement markings and traffic light changes. The Town has received a grant for sidewalk installations along portions of Augur Street, Benham Street, Davis Street, and Treadwell Avenue. We have our consultant preparing the design. The Town will be conducting an additional public input session when the design reaches 60% completion. We anticipate the next public input session sometime in late 2020 or early 2021. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Hamden Engineering Department.
