Community Development Citizens Advisory Commission

Mission Statement

This commission's responsibility is to make recommendations to and advise the Economic and Community Development Department with regard to the operation and funding of the Community Development Block Grant program. The commission acts as an advisory board over the federal monies the town receives from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) office. Hamden receives an annual budget from HUD in order to conduct programs for low-moderate income families, and the commission oversees all of those activities.

Members

The commission consists of nine members, with no more than five members belonging to the same political party. This 3-year appointment is recommended by the Mayor, and must be approved by the Legislative Council.
