The Hamden Community Garden was established in 2008 and has quickly become a favorite location for Hamden's gardening community. Last year the garden was filled to capacity, with many residents inquiring as to whether an additional garden would be established or if more space would be provided at the existing location. Mayor Curt Leng is requesting input from residents regarding the possible construction and siting of a second community garden, and requests that all recommendations or suggestions for suitable locations be sent to Information and Research Officer, Patrick J. Donnelly, by email. Further details regarding the possibility of a second community garden will be provided after review by Town administrators.
New Plot Registration
The Hamden Mayor’s Office is pleased to announce that registrations to secure a plot in the Hamden Community Garden, located right next to Josh’s Jungle in the parking lot of the Miller Memorial Library Complex, will open April 1st, 2017. Any plot which remains open after April 17th will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis. Proof of Hamden residency must be provided to qualify for a plot.
