Mission Statement

The Hamden Public Library, the community's information center, provides a variety of library resources, access to innovative technology, and a knowledgeable staff to improve the quality of life and meet the informational, educational, economic, and cultural interests of the entire Hamden community. The Library Board oversees the Town's library system that includes the Miller Memorial Central Library and two branches: the Whitneyville Branch and the Louise A. Brundage Community Branch Library

This Board consists of five members, with no more than 3 of the same political party. This five-year appointment is recommended by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Legislative Council.
