Mission Statement

Dedication to improving recreational activities for all Hamden residents at all ages with commitment to the Town of Hamden is the Park and Recreation Commissions central mission. The Commission consists of seven commissioners which assemble monthly with the Recreation Director for an in-depth report on the work done or updates on progress at recreational sites and complaints. In addition, the Commission reviews all recommendations, fees for various programs, and updates on all sports programs.

This commission consists of seven members, with no more than four of the same political party. This three-year appointment is recommended by the Mayor, and subject to Legislative Council approval.
