Hamden Community Services works with the community every year to ensure Hamden families enjoy Thanksgiving without the worry of where their holiday meal will come from through generation donations by dedicated residents like you. 


1. How to receive a Thanksgiving Meal basket:

Any and all Hamden residents are eligible to receive a Thanksgiving meal bag. Proof of Hamden residency and family size is required. To register to receive a Thanksgiving meal basket, please call Community Services Program Specialist AnneMarie Karavas at 203-562-5129 ext. 1110. All meal baskets are available for distribution November 22nd, 2021.  

2. How to Donate Food to the Thanksgiving Food Drive: 

Monetary / Food donations can be made by arranging a drop off with Community Services Program Specialist AnneMarie Karavas at 203-562-5129 ext. 1110. If making a monetary donation, please make checks payable to "Keefe Center Gift Fund".  


 3. Most needed Thanksgiving Food Basket Items:

  • turkeys
  • yams
  • gravy
  • mashed potatoes
  • stuffing
  • cornbread
  • canned / fresh veggies
  • pasta
  • 5 lb bags of white potatoes
  • rice
  • tomato sauce
