Hamden – Mayor Curt Balzano Leng is very pleased to announce that Quinnipiac University Chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority recently donated $4,700.02 to the Town of Hamden’s Youth Services Bureau to alleviate one less stressor in the lives of many families following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The donation will allow for the distribution of approximately 200 additional backpacks and school supplies to Hamden students to support their academic journey through the upcoming school year.
“The Hamden Youth Services Bureau seeks to improve the quality of life for children, youth and families in Hamden and this donation from Phi Sigma Sigma only helps to fulfil that mission. On behalf of our students’ families, Hamden thanks Phi Sigma Sigma for their generosity and spirit of community.” said Mayor Leng,
“We are so very fortunate to be able to partner with Quinnipiac University students and truly appreciate their thoughtfulness, support and generosity. This donation will enable our students in need to have more of an even playing field,” commented Susan Rubino, Hamden Youth Services Bureau Coordinator.
