Hamden Receives $94,573 Equity Savings from Partnership with CIRMA

HAMDEN  Mayor Curt Balzano Leng is pleased to announce that the Town of Hamden recently received an "equity distribution" payment from its Liability, Property, and Auto (LAP) insurance provider, Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency (CIRMA). CIRMA is a subsidiary of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM), of which the Town is a member. The total amount of the 2021 equity distribution payment equals $94,573. In 2020 the Town received an equity distribution of $35,124. CIRMA is one of the most successful state-wide collaborative efforts between CT Municipalities, schools, and local public agencies.

Mayor Curt Balzano Leng, Board Member of both the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and CIRMA remarked, “This is an example of meaningful partnerships resulting in meaningful savings in local government. Services offered by CIRMA ultimately provide a great financial benefit for the Town, and we're proud to continue this partnership."

As a member-owned and governed organization, CIRMA stands as one of the most successful state-wide collaborative efforts between Connecticut municipalities, school districts, and local public agencies. Over the past eleven years, CIRMA put nearly $37 million in equity back in the hands of its members.
