Hamden’s Earth Day Celebration: Saturday April 22nd
Join Us For The Week of April 16th For Events and Activities!
Hamden – Hamden's 2023 Earth Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 22nd from 10AM to 3PM at Town Center Park, 2761 Dixwell Ave.
This year's family-oriented, free celebration will feature an array of exhibitors, organizations, and free activities, including:
We are also hosting a Community Volunteer Paint Day in conjunction with Earth Day for the community to paint part of the MLK39 Racial Equity Mural. This will be a large-scale public art mural by Artist Emida Roller on the Dixwell-facing side of Hamden’s Miller Memorial Library that will celebrate the diversity and cultures of the community and highlight the messages of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The mural will be revealed at the Town’s Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday June 17th. Sunday April 16th: Compost Pickup at Brooksvale Park
12:00PM to 2:00PM - Bring your own pails for free compost! Address: 524 Brooksvale Ave, Hamden
Monday April 17th: CT DEEP Recycling Workshop at Thornton Wilder Hall
7PM – Join CT DEEP for a Recycling Workshop on what goes in and what stays out of your blue recycling container. Address: 2901 Dixwell Ave, Hamden
Tuesday April 18th: Film Screening, A River Speaks, at Thornton Wilder Hall
7PM to 8PM – Film screening of A River Speaks (34 minutes) with Steve Hamm. Address: 2901 Dixwell Ave, Hamden.
Wednesday April 19th: Rain Barrel Workshop at Brundage Community Branch Library
6:30PM to 7:45PM – Program on constructing rain barrels with Frank Panzarella. Address: 91 Circular Avenue, Hamden
Friday April 21st: The Whitney Center Conservation/Nature Committee Neighborhood Cleanup
