Notice of Public Hearings for CDBG Program
October 18th & December 6th
Hamden – Town officials would like to invite the public to upcoming public hearings regarding the FY25 Community Development Block Grant.
The Town of Hamden receives funding annually through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program. The CDBG Entitlement Program provides annual grants to municipalities for community development by providing housing, a safe and healthy living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons.
CDBG grants are awarded to municipalities so they can carry out a wide range of community development activities directed toward revitalizing neighborhoods, economic development, and providing improved community facilities and services. The CDBG program is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Residents are invited and encouraged to share input on how best to appropriate the Town’s fiscal year 2025 allocation of approximately $450,000. To view the draft spending plan, please visit: https://www.hamdenedc.com/community-development.
