HAMDEN’s Earth Day Celebration

HAMDEN – Hamden’s 2020 Earth Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 4th from 10am - 3pm at the Hamden Middle School, located at 2623 Dixwell Avenue. This year’s family-oriented, free celebration will feature an excellent array of exhibitors promoting earth friendly services, products and organizations, food, music, and free activities, including: a bird guessing games, environmentally themed raffles, a scavenger hunt (complete it and win a prize), a coloring contest, hand-crafts, activities, and other fun and games for kids and families.
Other activities will include opportunities to “Touch a Truck” with the Hamden Fire and Police Departments, the Hamden Police “wilderness rescue” vehicle, an electric vehicle (EV) showcase, opportunities to learn all about Hamden’s “Sustainable CT” program, eco and animal education displays from Hamden’s own Brooksvale Park, the UCONN Master Gardener’s Program, and MANY more exhibitors to be announced in the coming weeks!
In addition, don’t miss a pre-event bird walk, the annual Orchid Awards, and a special K9 show by the Hamden Police Department. TAKE 2 INC. will also be on site to collect and dispose of older and broken electronics. A complete list of items eligible for disposal will be announced.
